11/27/2023 0 Comments Ace of spades hq doctor who![]() These two have been best buddies since Bella (chocolate lab) was a puppy while my wife and I were hand raising Nola. Her name is Lilo - 8 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi Thank you for sharing your photo and remembrances of your wonderful dog. And as Will Rogers said, "If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." If there are dogs in heaven, then Molly surely will be there. We were forced to say goodbye to Molly last week, as hip problems and a sudden intestinal problem proved to be too much. She was the best of companions and a comfort in our times of stress and worry. Her greatest joys were a daily walk and handouts at the dinner table. Molly rarely barked, and never whined or complained about anything. But they kept Molly past that date because she was so gentle and friendly, and they wanted to place her with a family. Normally, our pound keeps animals for two weeks, and then euthanizes them if no one claims them. The people at the pound said she was a shepherd/husky mix. ![]() Molly was around four or five years old when we welcomed her into our family in 2014. I kinda suspected that "Perfessor" Squirrel would turn out to have a soft spot for critters. "Perfessor" Squirrel - Certified Crazy Cat Dude ![]() I'm attaching a photo of Allie surveying her new domain from on top of a cat tree. She also has this amusing quirk of dropping her cat toys in her full water dish. Allie does let me pet her sometimes, but she also growls sometimes when I do. They've been very chill about the whole experience. She's been doing OK, though she's not terribly keen on interacting with Penny, Jasmine, and Kaylee. Plus, Allie can spend her initial time there while she adjusts to her new environment. It's a great little catio that has plenty of windows and ventilation, afternoon sunshine, cat trees, and a couch. I just happen to have a sunroom on the back of my house that is perfect for cats. My coworker friend was desperate to find Allie a home after being turned down by several other cat owners. The sister of one of my former coworkers suffered a stroke, leaving her incapable of taking care of her 5-year-old cat (named "Ally," though I've changed the spelling to "Allie"). Well, I guess I went to sleep for a million and one years, because I broke my vow this past weekend. I swore I would never, ever get a fourth cat for my household. Let's enjoy the world of animals and leave the world of politics outside today. Kick back and enjoy the world of animals. Good afternoon and welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. Some pets are more serious than others, like this very serious Security Cat:
